Road tripping

Tuesday, 6 June 2017

Without much of a plan and only an apartment in Paris booked mid trip, we packed our car to the brim and headed off on what was to be a 3 week trip around the entire country. We took a map and a pencil and literally drew a line from South to North on the eastern side of France, circled Paris, and then another line from North to South on the western side. I think we marked about a dozen places that we thought looked interesting. We said, sure can we drive for a few hours while Elliot sleeps, find some quaint hotels, explore the towns in the afternoon and blog about it at night.
Optimistic, yes! Realistic, no!

Throw in 2 French public holidays, overbooked hotels, seemingly endless drives, unfriendly Swiss border control, a few promises to visit next time we are 'in the area' and one stolen tank of petrol. It wouldn't be fun if there weren't a few bumps in the road!

With a few technical problems getting our photos onto the mac (god, i hate macs!) we have returned to Provence with 3 weeks worth of travels to update everyone on ... we have covered a great deal of the country and over the next couple of weeks will be adding some posts and pics covering our little adventure....

Annecy, Rhône-Alpes
Beaune, Burgundy
Fontainebleau, Île-de-France
P A R I S
Chantilly, Hauts-de-France
Bordeaux, Aquitaine
Carcassonne, Languedoc
Le Rayol Canadel, Côte d'Azur

Stay tuned...

A xx
