9 months .... countless memories
We've been back for two weeks, back to the real world, back to the Sydney traffic and the fifteen minute wait for a takeaway coffee. Back to day care and as of Monday, back to work (at least for one of us)! Back to that feeling of "what next?" ...
It has all come to end and way too fast. We miss it so much that we even miss the things we couldn't wait to leave behind. The language struggles, the French-ness of their weird ways, the cold.
We miss the slowness of our lives and the days filled with everything or nothing.
If we could board a plane tomorrow and return, we would without a single hesitation.
Of course when my mind wanders, it's back to our four months in the tiny village of Saint Pantaléon and the quiet country life. Walks through the village, picking wildflowers on the side of the road, tending to our grapes, watching the sunset every night on our terrace with a wine in hand. Long days of not doing much at all. And I guess, if we have taken something out of that time, it's to be more present, to switch off and to slow down, look around more often, to linger over a long lunch at home, make the time to talk, cook, go for long walks or read a book.
For those reading our blog, thank you for coming on this journey with us. Thank you for sharing Our Little French Life.
We've loved writing the blog, if not for our family and friends back home, then for our own keepsake diary that we will print and keep as a travel journal for us and for Elliot when he is older.
We have so many blog posts that we never published, so you might be seeing some flashbacks pop up in the future.
À bientôt!
A xx
